Data processing agreement

Roles

You, the site owner, are the controller of the personal data that visitors write into your chat. chatwithdev is your processor: we store and deliver that data on your instructions and for no other purpose.

What we process

Visitor messages and replies, names and emails visitors give, the page and browser details captured with a message, files sent in the chat, ratings, and the identity fields your site passes in. Details are in the privacy policy.

Our commitments

• We process personal data only to provide the service, and only as this agreement and your settings say.
• People who work on chatwithdev are bound to confidentiality and access production data only to fix a problem you raised.
• We keep the data encrypted in transit and at rest with our hosting providers, isolate each project by a per-project secret, and keep audit logs of administrative access.
• We help you answer requests from your visitors: one click deletes a visitor's conversation, and everything can be exported.
• We tell you without undue delay, and at the latest within 72 hours, if we learn of a breach affecting your data.
• When you delete your account, or ask us to, the data is removed within thirty days, except where the law requires us to keep it.

Sub-processors

We tell signed-in owners at least thirty days before adding a sub-processor.

Transfers

Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and their EU-US Data Privacy Framework certifications where they hold one.
