How it is watched
AWS Route 53 health checks hit the website and the chat backend every 30 seconds from several regions. Three failures in a row raise an alarm that emails the team, and the alarm clears itself when the checks pass again. Messages are stored first and delivered second, so a delivery hiccup never loses a message.
